Very belated feedback (sorry !) - Made the mistake of not checking my meds one day, and completely ran out of one item. Knowing that you can't request a repeat over the phone, I took a chance and dropped into the surgery and threw myself on the mercy of the receptionists. A friend of mine once described doctors' receptionists as "Dragons at the locked and barred iron gates, denying entry to all who seek access to the hallowed, vaulted halls beyond". He was very good at English at school. Well, this is in no way a description of the lovely ladies at Southborough ! I have been registered with this surgery for over 20 years and have always found "Our Gals" on the desk friendly, helpful and proficient. And on this day in particular managed to get me a prescription printed and signed by the duty Doc within minutes to get me out of trouble. Fantastic ! They even shared their chocolates with me (honest Dr Long, they forced me to eat them !) - Thanks ladies, Kathy, Laurie and Pauline. the A-Team.

"Our Gals" will be delighted with that feedback so thank you on their behalf and I shall of course pass this on to them. Doctors' receptionists are so often misrepresented and our receptionists do us proud time and time again. They do a stressful job, dealing with vastly differing sets of circumstances often all in one day. If it is possible to solve a problem, they will do their utmost. Of course, it is not always possible to resolve problems as quickly as this so we encourage patients to order medication in plenty of time. Many thanks for your kind feedback. I was very worried about leaving my doctor because she has always been so wonderful but I feel so confident that I have found a new practice. I popped in last week to register and everyone was so friendly, helpful and smiley. I was made to feel extremely welcome - also I love their screening machine! It is such a good idea. Today I called to make an appointment and a lovely lady called Gaynor Cooper helped me. I wanted to ask a couple of questions expecting to be rushed off because doctor's receptionists are always so busy but instead she was wonderful.

This is a very good surgery,all the doctors are very caring in every way,i cannot fault this surgery at all.The staff are always very helpful,and kind,always help where they can.I have been with this surgery 25 years,speaks for itself.

I'd like to thank Kathy for her great efforts in getting a prescription signed urgently by a doctor for my elderly grandmother. She understood the issues we were experiencing (the hospital being slow in writing to the GP) and acted very efficiently and got the job done whilst being professional and lovely. She then had the prescription sent straight to the chemist to avoid any unnecessary delay. Receptionists are the first point of contact at the doctors (in person or phone) and when they are like Kathy it makes a huge difference. She was very sympathetic to our situation which helped relieve the frustration. Every surgery needs a Kathy!

Kathy who enrolled me was very helpful and bent over backwards to help me, so pleased I have been able to register.
